Experience NL’s team consists of MATT BARRETT (left) and JASON KEOUGH (right), two immensely proud Newfoundlanders. Newfoundland and Labrador is a natural, cultural, and historical gem, and Matt and Jason are passionate about showcasing it to the world.
JASON KEOUGH | Owner & NL Travel Specialist
Hello! I am Jason, born and raised in the community of Paradise, a short driving distance from our capital city St. John’s.
I am a graduate of Dalhousie University and Saint Mary’s University with a BA (Political Science) and MBA (Management and Taxation) respectively.
My career began in accounting and public policy roles with the federal and provincial governments. I then decided to put my research and information management skills toward my true passion, NL travel and tourism.
I love nature and history of all kinds and I am particularly passionate about heritage preservation and sustainable tourism. As a keen traveler, I have visited over a dozen European countries, Mexico, Continental United States, and every Canadian province.
MATT BARRETT | NL Travel Specialist
Hey there! I am Matt, born and raised in the small community of Arnold’s Cove which is located on the isthmus connecting the Avalon Peninsula to the remainder of Newfoundland.
I am a graduate of the Tourism Careers for Youth Program from Niagara College. My career includes working extensively as a host and server with Sheraton Hotels and Resorts.
I am an animal lover, an adventure seeker, a foodie fanatic, and a passionate international travel. My journeys have taken me throughout Western, Central, and Eastern Europe including Romania, Hungary, and Italy. My passion for NL is limitless.
As passionate travelers, we seek out more satisfying, rewarding experiences that enrich us and improve the way we connect with the world. Our own travel expectations and experiences have played a major role behind Experience NL. We believe travel should be about experiencing and feeling your journey, not just visiting a place.
While the internet has opened many travel options, it has also created countless challenges such as loss of personalized service, repetitive itineraries, and, far too often, unreasonably high prices. Finding that exceptional travel experience over generic, pre-packaged ones is increasingly difficult. Hence, taking away the fun of truly experiencing and understanding a destination.
While technology is changing the way we travel, this too remains extremely disorganized. As travelers we still use multiple service providers at different stages along our journey. The reality is that travelers expect, but too little receive, that remarkable, seamless travel experience.
